The pioneers of social networking sites interacted widely, after the International Equestrian Federation announced a positive result of the doping sample for the nephew of the famous Egyptian businessman, as well as the appearance of a banned substance in it, and a decision was taken to suspend the player for two years.
Egyptian grievance
The head of the Egyptian Olympic Committee, and the head of the Egyptian Equestrian Federation, Hisham Hatab, revealed the truth of the circulating publication and the suspension of the player, and other details related to the crisis.
He pointed out, in exclusive statements to “Sky News Arabia”, that “the nephew of the famous businessman was subjected to severe injustice in the sample, as it was withdrawn two and a half years before the championship in 2019, and they issued its result and a ruling on it after two and a half years, which is suspicious,” according to to describe it.
He stressed that “Egypt will file a grievance and will go to the International Sports Court directly, since there is no grievance committee at the International Equestrian Federation.”
He explained that “the player who deals with prohibited or doping is on his personal responsibility, and the Egyptian Equestrian Federation has nothing to do with the matter.”
And about the Egyptian knight’s cause to cancel Egypt’s results in the Tokyo Olympics, he indicated that “the Egyptian knight (the nephew of the famous businessman) caused the results to be canceled temporarily until the result of the grievance appears in the team results and not the individual results, and if he participated in the singles, the cancellation It only includes the result.
He explained that in its beginning, the matter was related to accusations of the Egyptian Equestrian Federation of favoring Mohamed Taher Ziada (one of the Egyptian participants in the equestrian game at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics), and after the ruling of the International Equestrian Federation, it is now related to favoring the nephew of the Egyptian businessman, Sameh Al-Dahan.
The International Anti-Doping Law says that “everyone who takes prohibited items is responsible for himself, and he is punished by the International Federation if the sample is positive and the complaint is rejected, and everything that enters the player’s belly is the player’s responsibility and not the responsibility of the federation.”
Technical reasons
Hatab said that the crisis raised over the exclusion of the Egyptian knight, Sameh Al-Dahan, for the sake of the nephew of a famous businessman, is completely untrue, and that his exclusion was for purely technical reasons.
The Egyptian official indicated that these technical reasons were about the age of his horse, which was supposed to participate in the Olympics.
He continued, “In order for the horse to compete in a race, it must be trained and qualified at least two years before the championship, and we told him that he is old, but he insisted on participating in the Olympics.”
He pointed out that the aforementioned incident regarding the horse’s age occurred before the Olympics in 2019, and the horse was 15 years old, “and due to the postponement of the championship due to the circumstances of Corona, the horse’s age became 17 years when it was held in 2021,” as he put it.
He added, “Sameh Al-Dahhan was stubborn in this crisis, and we agreed to use this horse, and despite that, he came a month before the tournament and said that he would replace the horse because it was too old.”
He added, “(Sameh Al-Dahan) was not honest with us,” stressing that “the new horse that he wanted to ride in the Olympics is young and does not have the capabilities to participate in a sports Olympics, and has not participated in high technical levels before.”
He pointed out that he “suggested that (Al-Dahan) be a reserve for the four participants in the Olympics, but the latter refused,” continuing, “the nephew of the famous Egyptian businessman trained with the German world champion in equestrian (Bear Pound) for 4 years, which qualifies him to participate in the Olympics,” he said.
