Through its official blog, George RR Martinthe mastermind behind the world of Game of Thrones, has spoken of the new House of the Dragon, a TV series out on HBO this year that will tell the story of the Targaryen 200 years before the events of the books. Although there is not yet a perfect edited, Martin has seen a few pieces of the series and immediately defined himself as enthusiastic, claiming to “love” what he saw.
The post reads in its entirety as follows:
Great news from London – I have been informed that filming for the first season of House of the Dragon is over.
Yes, all 10 episodes. I have seen a few pieces of some of these, and I must say that I am loving them. Of course, there is still work to be done. Special effects, color timing, music, all the post production work.
But the writing, the direction, the interpretation are all exceptional. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do. Hats off to Ryan and Miguel and their team, and to our amazing cast.
So are you wondering when will you be able to see it? When will the dragons dance?
I wish I could tell you. There is still a lot of work to be done, and as I said, Covid makes everything difficult. This spring? I do not believe. Summer? Perhaps. Fall? Who knows?
In short, a decidedly different feeling from what he had had with the eighth season of the main series: we remember that those episodes were written from scratch as the writer had not yet talked about those events in the books.
In short, have the approval of those who invented the Targaryen it is something very important; it is equally so to know that we will not have the House of the Dragon series this spring, but already this summer / fall it could appear in the HBO schedule – and consequently then arrive here in Italy through the Sky service.
