The need for intensive care beds in Bavaria is increasing, only a few are available. From Tuesday, due to the current situation, there will be tightening in many areas.
Munich – The hospital traffic light of the Bavarian Ministry of Health jumped to red on Monday due to the high number of more than 600 corona patients in the intensive care units. This means that the access and test rules will be tightened from Tuesday.
Among other things, according to the Ministry of Health, the 3G rule will then be mandatory at many workplaces: Only employees who have been vaccinated, recovered or tested will have access.
As emerged from the Divi intensive care registry on Monday, 609 people with Covid-19 were currently in the intensive care units in the Free State at noon, more than half of them have to be ventilated. Nationwide, only 446 intensive care beds are free, of which 155 Covid-specific beds with ventilation options.
In order to avoid a collapse of the health system, stricter rules come into force if more than 450 or 600 Covid beds are occupied, each with a one-day delay.
With 450 occupied Covid beds, the hospital traffic light jumped to yellow. It was not until Sunday that FFP2 masks were used again wherever medical masks had been sufficient before.
With the exception of local public transport and retail, all employees in companies with more than ten employees must have themselves checked at least twice a week with a quick test if they have contact with colleagues or customers during their work. dpa
