Amsterdam, witnesses to the tragedy: “An infernal noise was heard”
Tragedy at the airport Schiphol Of Amsterdam in Holland, a man, still unclear whether he is an employee or a passenger, was literally sucked from the engine of an airplane Klm who was carrying out preliminary operations before leaving for Billund in Denmark. The man was killed from the rotating blades of the turbine. The horrific tragedy occurred on the apron outside the busy hub terminal, airport authorities said.
The Dutch airline – reports the National Daily – has confirmed with a statement, but without providing the identity of the victim: “Today an accident occurred at Schiphol during which a person ended up in the engine of a moving plane. Unfortunately the person died.” KLM added: “We are currently dealing with the passengers and employees who witnessed the accident at Schiphol. The circumstances are currently being investigated.” The newspaper De Telegraaf, which reports the news, has not yet been able to find out whether it is a passenger or employee, but the second hypothesis is the most probable. The crew had just completed the safety instructions, immediately afterwards a “infernal noise” and smoke was seen coming out, said the passengers, who were forced to get off the plane to be boarded on another flight.
