Honda is also making the switch to EVs. From 2040, the entire range must consist of electric cars. In China, that EV transition will already be made in 2030, which explains why the e:N concept cars are primarily targeting the People’s Republic.
Overview :
Although these Honda e:N concept cars are mainly aimed at China, the technology will also find its way to the European range of the Japanese brand. In concrete terms, these are three concept cars that build on a modular e:N platform that enables front, rear and four-wheel drive.
To show the possibilities of that variable base, Honda presents a Coupé as well as an SUV and a GT. Unlike the Honda E, they don’t get nostalgic lines, but a sharply cut body design that speaks a completely new design language. Could the Tesla Cybertruck have served as a source of inspiration for the design team?
e:NS1 and e:NP1 as electrical HR-V
In addition to those three concept cars, Honda also showed two electric variants of the new HRV: the e:NS1 and the e:NP1, which will be built for the Chinese market by Dongfeng and GAC respectively. Those are two Chinese manufacturers with which Honda has a joint venture. Those electric Honda HRV models would be available with 182 or 204 hp and would count on a battery pack of 69 kWh, but are not yet coming to Europe. With us, the new Honda HRV is offered as a hybrid.
