The new one should debut by the end of the year Honda CR-V, to be launched on the market in 2023. Now in its sixth generation, the Japanese carmaker’s SUV was shown incognito for the first time last year, as evidenced by some spy photos that emerged on the web. Now, the first patent images of the model, which offer the possibility to appreciate more precisely what the lines and design of the SUV will be: the overall propositions of the car, as well as the lighting units, seem to be very similar to those of the prototypes tested in 2020 by Honda.
Aesthetically speaking, the new generation of the CR-V will mount thinner LED headlights, connected via a chrome strip to the front grille which appears larger. Also new for what concerns the front bumper, which in the lower part shows a graphic similar to the pre-restyled version of the current generation of the SUV, albeit with vertical slits on the sides and an even wider lower air intake. At the rear, however, the new crossover of the Japanese brand will be characterized by the presence of the characteristic headlights with vertical extensions. The updates made by Honda will also extend inside the passenger compartmentwhere a new digital instrument panel and a touchscreen display dedicated to the infotainment system will appear significantly larger than that mounted on the current generation of the CR-V.
It is not yet known what the specifics of the engine range, even if according to the latest rumors reported by Carscoops we will find ourselves in front of the same current engine line-up albeit with some small updates. The certainty is that in Europe the sixth generation of the SUV will be proposed only in electrified versions, including the hybrid e: HEV which combines a 2.0-liter engine with two electric powertrains. On which platform the new CR-V will be born is still to be determined: further details will be released in the coming weeks.
