Hockey This is often not seen, and should not be: the NHL referee fed the puck directly to another team

The match between Boston and Ottawa saw a special event.

For team sports and the referees have an old but still true saying that a good referee is one who is not even noticed during a match.

Sometimes, however, the judges take on a role they shouldn’t, and that was exemplified in Thursday’s NHL round in a match between the Boston Bruins and the Ottawa Senators.

The puck drifted into the corner of Boston’s defensive head and was left by the referee Corey Syvretin skates.

As the Ottawa player approached Syveret, this kicked the puck to the Boston player behind the goal.

Puck hits matches between referees, and by the book the game can only be whistled if the puck goes to the finish line or the referee is injured.

However, under no circumstances may the referee play the puck and knowingly influence the game. The situation has caused surprise in puck fans, but so far there is no information about possible sanctions.

Ottawa eventually scored 3 to 2 on the away win.
