Hockey Sweden’s NHL goalkeeper Robin Lehner has announced he will skip the Olympics

The 30-year-old goalie writes that the race arrangements would not be good for his mental health.

Lehner, 30, told of his decision With their Twitter account on Monday morning after finishing Finnish victory for his companion Vegas Golden Knights.

Lehner defeated 19 times as the Golden Knights knocked down the Calgary Flames 3-2. The goalkeeper initially described his team’s performance as brilliant.

“I have to announce that I am not going to go to the Olympics. I am very disappointed and the decision was difficult for me because it is a once in a lifetime opportunity. The fact is, however, that the arrangements would not be good for my mental health, ”Lehner wrote.

NHL Lehner, who has also played in the Ottawa Senators, Buffalo Sabers, New York Islanders and Chicago Blackhawks, said the decision took a long time.

The goalkeeper, who spoke openly about his mental health problems, said he discussed the matter with his psychiatrist and family.

“My own well-being is a priority. Because I don’t know what happens if I give a positive corona test result, the risks are too great. Sweden will have a great team and [Jacob] Markström is a real beast as a goalkeeper, ”he wrote.

“I hope people understand,” Lehner continued, concluding his message to the hearts.

Lehner attacked in October vehemently against the shadows of the NHL. He criticizes clubs for distributing addictive drugs to their players, among other things.
