Konkaripakit Arto Laatikainen and Markus Kankaanperä and goalkeeper Eetu Laurikainen are HPK’s latest acquisitions.
Hockey Hämeenlinna Ball Club, which is in the last place in the league, strengthened its crew with three players on Tuesday.
40-year-old veteran defenders Arto Laatikainen and Markus Kankaanperä returning to the league ice from the lower tier of Mestis. Laatikainen will move to HPK from Kiekko-Espoo and Kankaanperä from Kiekko-Boys in Joensuu.
“In order to improve the structure of the game, we need to get a more balanced and confident play of our own head as well as opening play,” the sports director Mika Toivola says in a press release.
Keeper Eetu Laurikainen, 27, is HPK ‘s third new mortgage. Laurikainen, who has been without a club during this season, played in the League JYP last season.
“We also need confirmation for our goalkeeper department in light of the spring game congestion. Eetu is an experienced goalkeeper who has played tough matches throughout his career, all the way to the national team and North America, ”says Toivola.
All The newcomers are already familiar players to HPK, and Laatikainen was also winning the Finnish championship for the club in the spring of 2019.
Laatikainen has played 950 regular season matches in the League at 77 + 234 = 311 and 131 playoffs with points 12 + 55 = 67.
Kangasperä has scored 54 + 132 = 186 in its 1,024 League regular season games and 7 + 18 = 25 in 166 playoff games.
Door will also go to HPK in the other direction as the spring 2019 champion goalkeeper Emil Larmi, 24, returns to the Pittsburgh Penguins organization of his NHL club in preparation for the AHL season, which begins in February.
Last season, Larmi defeated the Penguins at the AHL Farm Club in Wilkes-Barre / Scranton Penguins and down the ECHL at Wheeling Nailers.
