NHL insider Frank Seravallin Jalonen’s name rose to Panthers head coach discussion earlier this week, but Panthers announced on Friday that he had appointed head coach Paul Mauricen.
Maurice is the former head coach of the Winnipeg Jets. He served as the team’s pilot from 2014–21 and was mentoring Patrik Lainetta In NHL ways during the 2016-2020 seasons, until Laine was sold to Columbus Blue Jackets.
Maurice left the Jets himself in December last year.
