Hockey Ducks’ GM Bob Murray, who is under investigation, resigned and is going into substance abuse rehabilitation

According to ESPN, the investigation focuses on defamatory language use in the workplace.

NHL Anaheim Ducks Sports Director (GM) Bob Murray has resigned. The NHL said on their websitethat Murray’s activities at work are under investigation and that Murray has reported going to substance abuse rehabilitation because of an alcohol problem.

Murray had been suspended on Tuesday due to an ongoing investigation. According to ESPN the investigation focuses in particular on defamatory language use in the workplace.

“I want to apologize to anyone who has been negatively affected by my behavior. I’m going to change my life, and it starts with me going to a treatment program, ”Murray announced.

Murray, 66, was appointed general manager of Ducks in November 2008. He served from 1997 to 1999 as general manager of the Chicago Blackhawks.

As Ducks’ GM, Murray will be temporarily replaced Jeff Solomon.
