Russ had fled up the mountain during the fire. Then he managed to survive the cold and snow: the incredible images
What we tell you today is the incredible and absurd story of the little dog Russ. He, who was missing in a fire last summer, managed to survive the fire and the following winter, until someone found him and helped him get back to his dad at his home. Nobody can understand how it was possible, but everyone is happy for the happy ending of this story.
It all started inAugust 2021. A man went on a hike in the mountains as usual, taking his beloved and adventurous puppy with him.
The two, unfortunately, while they were near Lake Tahoe, were surprised by the flames of the devastating Caldor fire. Afraid of the hustle and bustle and the flames, the little dog e ran away and has made his tracks go missing.
The worst part was that his human, although he wanted to look for him, is due run away in turn to avoid being involved in the fire.
The man had long hoped to hear about his missing dog, but after weeks still no one had let him know. For this reason, he almost had lost all hope.
The discovery and rescue of Russ
In December, so well four months later the terrible story, however, something inexplicable and extraordinary happened. Two off-piste skiers spotted this pile of black fur under a tree and decided to get closer.
When they were close enough they knew it was a dog, but every time they tried to interact with him, he would growl and he bared his teeth. So they took pictures and left.
Those photos then published them on social networks, capturing the attention of the volunteers of the Tahoe PAWS and TLC 4 Furry Friends, who immediately went into action.
They wore some snowshoes, they got on theirs sledges and have reached the indicated place. From a distance it looked like the puppy was dead, as it didn’t move, but then it was woke up and it allowed those people to get close. The volunteers covered him up nicely, loaded him onto the sled and then got him brought downstream.
Incredibly, the vet examined the puppy and found nothing in him any health problems. The doctor then scanned the microchip and that was when they identified him.
It is useless to specify how much happy was its owner when he was notified of Russ’s discovery.
We are sure that he will be long now More careful when they will go hiking together again.
