The advanced colt “Highland Falls” for Godolphin, supervised by Brad Cox and driven by Florent Giroud, achieved his first victory in classified races, as he was able to win the title of the “Plem Stakes” class 3 race at Churchill Downs in the United States of America by a length.
Brad Cox said: “Highland Falls” is a typical horse of the “Curlin” breed, constantly improving in performance with age, and he also has a good pedigree, and he has always performed better over the classic distance in America.
Godolphin’s Automan Fleet, supervised by Charlie Appleby and driven by Flavien Pratt, also clinched the title of the Arlington Stakes, over a distance of 1,700 metres, for the third category, at Churchill Downs.
“Automan Fleet” was able to compete for the lead of the race despite the strength of the competitors, to seize the lead in the last meters, and maintain it smoothly to achieve victory by a length from “Chasing the Crown.”
Knight Flavien Prat said: The team wanted me to make sure that I set a specific target in front of “Automan Fleet” for the chase, and it seems that it always starts well and then loses focus when it reaches the front. Trying to keep it behind a specific target was the main goal before it advanced to overtake them.
On the other hand, English jockey Rachel King is scheduled to end an 11-year absence from British racing, by competing in the most famous sporting event, as one of the best female jockeys in Australian racing looks forward to getting married and then participating in the Royal Ascot Festival just two days later.
King achieved six victories in Britain as a trainee and then an amateur between 2009 and 2013, before heading to a working holiday in Australia that changed the course of her life. The former racing secretary for trainer Clive Cox had so far achieved five first-class victories in Australia, the last of which was winning the Coolmore Stud Race. The prestigious Stakes on board “Osmosis” at the Melbourne Cup Carnival last year.
Sydney-based King then racked up 16 victories during her time in Japan, with Ryan Moore putting her in touch with agent Tony Hind, who is now looking to secure engagements for King throughout the five days of Royal Ascot, and before that she will marry Luke Hilton in Oxford in… June 16th.
Hind, agent for a team of riders that includes, in addition to Ryan Moore, champion jockey William Buick, Jim Crowley, Richard Kingscote and David Egan, described himself as “honored” to work alongside Rachel King.
