Barcelona announced the renewal of the contract of its Spanish star Pedri, until 2026, with a penalty clause of one billion euros, which is higher than the value of the termination of Lionel Messi’s previous contract with Barcelona, which was 700 million euros.
Pedri, 18, is considered one of the best young talents in Europe, and last season witnessed an “explosion” of his talent that caught the attention of all of Europe.
Pedri signed with Barcelona in the summer of 2020, but his rapid development hastened the Catalan club to renew with him a long-term contract that extends until the summer of 2026.
Pedri played 53 games for Barcelona last season, more than any other player in the team, and also participated mainly in Spain’s matches in the European Cup 2020.
