The A-7 bypass, the high speed between Madrid and Valencia and the Cercanías lines C1 and C2 – partially – rThey will resume circulation starting Wednesday, November 13which will allow “significantly improving” the mobility of Valencians, after the DANA that devastated numerous municipalities in the province of Valencia.
This was announced this Saturday by the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaskain a press conference in which he revealed whats advances in infrastructureafter participating in the meeting of the Integrated Operational Coordination Center (Cecopi). Specifically, he recalled that This Friday the N-3 opened and this Sunday the N-330 will openat kilometer point 194, between the towns of Utiel (Valencia) and Talayuelas (Cuenca). In addition, the reopening of other key roads for mobility is expected next week.
In this way, between Wednesday and Thursday of next week – November 13 or 14 – it is expected that the A-7 bypass is already activated. The same dates are estimated to restore the Madrid-València high speed. “I think they are reasonably satisfactory news taking into account the difficult moment we are experiencing in Valencia,” he expressed.
Regarding the lines of Surroundingsthe minister has also explained that starting next Wednesday it is planned that partial circulation is resumed on line C1 -which originally goes from Gandia to Valencia-. From November 13, circulation will be established between Gandia and Silla, and vice versa, with a frequency of half an hour. To reach the Valencian capital, a complementary bus service will be established between Silla and València.
“As soon as possible”
For its part, the C2 line -which previously traveled between Moixent and Valencia- will recover a partial circulationalso on Wednesday, November 13, between Moixent and Carcaixent, with a frequency of one hour; as well as between Xàtiva and Carcaixent, “where the joint frequency in this section will be half an hour.”
In the case of weekends, for line C2, The frequency from Moixent to Carcaixent will be two hourswhile “the joint frequency will be maintained on this half-hour stretch between Xàtiva and Carcaixent. A complementary bus service will be established throughout the week, which will travel from Carcaixent to Valencia. “The Ministry of Transportfrom the beginning, was committed to restoring normality on the essential roads as soon as possible in order to enhance the mobility of all Valencians,” highlighted Marlaska.
On the other hand, the minister explained that they have requested the Generalitat to, “as soon as possible”, send a list of the roads that are the responsibility of the Generalitat itselfthe Provincial Council of Valencia or the city councils, with the damages detailed so that “they can all intervene together, coordinated in this important work such as road infrastructure.”
To this end, he detailed, the Royal Decree-Law that the Government approved in the last Council of Ministers on Tuesday, enabled the Ministry of Transport to “intervene in the rehabilitation of affected roads” that are locally owned. “The state companies have moved forward rapidly with 24-hour work, as was appropriate, and we understand that this framework must be completed with the local ones as soon as possible,” he stressed.
On the other hand, he pointed out that the Government, at the request of the Generalitat, has activated the European Civil Protection Mechanism, “important to be able to respond and have all the means offered by the European Union so that this emergency can advance its recovery in a noticeable way, especially in terms of waste removal and the removal and management of sludge, which is so important for multiple reasons.
In this regard, he pointed out that the Emergency Directorate -the Generalitat- and the general director of Civil Protection and Emergencies work to “establish needs”something that “has to be defined by the Emergency Management itself”, to specify “what is needed and how it is needed.”
Marlaska stressed that they have contacted France, who has offered a “significant number” of troops, which he estimated at 280, and more than 40 vehicles, all of this “for a period of 12 days.” In addition, they will be expanded with the troops and means that other countries have shown a willingness to offer.
