Her Excellency indicated that the state of recovery from the “Covid 19” pandemic that we are experiencing is a reality in the UAE and the country’s global leadership in total vaccine doses and the proportion of vaccine recipients from the population are explicit indicators to control the epidemiological situation and confirm the preservation of public health as a government priority for quality of life at the level of the UAE .
This came during her Excellency chairing the second meeting of the Quality of Life Council for the current year 2021, which was held with the feature of “remotely” video communication, in which members of the Quality of Life Council from federal and local government agencies and executive councils at the state level participated, where the Quality of Life Council represents a platform to enhance government coordination and integration and achieve directives Leadership in this field based on the axes, goals and aspirations of the UAE Quality of Life Strategy 2031.
Her Excellency Hessa bint Issa Buhumaid said that the well-established government principle of quality of life in the UAE is derived from the achievements on the ground and from the aspirations and directives of the country’s leadership towards achieving more and always emphasizing the best, which reflects the saying of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and President of the State The Cabinet and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, said, “Quality of life is a priority in our daily work, and at the heart of the government’s priorities, we want our society to be the most cohesive, healthy and the happiest.”
Her Excellency the Minister of Community Development added that the UAE is one of the first countries to take proactive measures in managing the Corona pandemic and reducing its effects, as the plans, initiatives and activities undertaken by all state institutions showed an active and proactive role in reducing the effects of the pandemic in accordance with the directives of the leadership and its continuous follow-up and its emphasis on the need to take all possible measures. To preserve the health, happiness and quality of life of individuals, citizens and residents of this country.
During the Quality of Life Council meeting, the efforts of the health sector in the recovery phase and the efforts of the education sector for this phase were reviewed, in addition to the Ministry of Interior’s security quality of life strategy, the results of the third community design forum for quality of life and marketing developments for quality of life initiatives in the UAE, in addition to the preparations related to conducting the national quality of life survey 2022.
The meeting highlighted the efforts of the health sector in the phase of recovery from the pandemic, as the efforts of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection in enhancing the quality of life of individuals during the last period were presented, in addition to the mechanism for controlling the pandemic, enhancing recovery capabilities and returning to normal life, and the ministry and government’s post-pandemic strategy.
In the education sector, the Ministry of Education reviewed, during the Quality of Life Council meeting, the most prominent efforts adopted by the Ministry to enhance the quality of life of students, parents, academics and faculty, as well as the comprehensive guidance and quality of life framework and the initiatives launched based on this framework to enrich the educational reality during the current period and beyond. pandemic.
During the meeting, the Ministry of Interior’s security quality of life strategy, which was linked to the Quality of Life 2031 strategy, was presented, and included 13 indicators to measure the impact.
The Ministry of Community Development presented the results of the third community design forum for quality of life, which was held in June 2021 with the participation of member agencies in addition to the private sector and various groups of society, which aims to design future policies for quality of life through five main axes: mental health, physical health, financial health, volunteering, giving and social life. .
In the context of marketing for quality of life initiatives in the UAE, the participants in the meeting were briefed on examples of quality of life initiatives that were marketed by the council’s member authorities. Their lives are based on partnerships made with the media for the purpose of periodic and sustainable marketing of these initiatives in traditional and modern media.
The Ministry of Community Development also reviewed, during the meeting, which brought together members of the Quality of Life Council from various ministries, institutions, and federal and local government bodies, the developments of the national questionnaire for happiness and quality of life for the next year 2022, where the next steps for preparing and launching the second version of the questionnaire were presented after the first version of it was conducted in the year Last year 2020, the work mechanism and ways to coordinate with the concerned authorities to implement the questionnaire were discussed.
It is noteworthy that the national strategic plan for quality of life includes 3 basic levels that include 14 detailed axes, and these levels are first: “Achieving a developed country and sustainable cities that support quality of life and livability, proactive in continuous development and creating opportunities” and second: “Building strong and cohesive families in a supportive, interconnected society that enjoys values of tolerance, giving and community participation” and third: “Encouraging individuals who enjoy healthy, active, positive, purposeful and responsible lives.”
At the first level, the strategy seeks to achieve economic and social development that creates opportunities and enhances living standards, ensures the existence of flexible and reliable institutions, systems and government services, designs and develops facilities, infrastructure, housing and transportation systems that support the quality of life, and promotes a lifestyle and practices that contribute to the preservation of the environment and natural resources and ensure their sustainability for current and future generations. Encouraging cultural and recreational events and activities that support the quality of life.
As for the second level, it includes enhancing the quality of interdependence and social relations in families and society, encouraging adoption and focusing on the quality of life in learning and work environments, enhancing the values of giving, cooperation, solidarity and community service, enhancing digital quality of life and encouraging positive, purposeful digital societies.
The third level, which is “Encouraging individuals to enjoy a healthy, active, positive, purposeful and responsible life”, is concerned with encouraging the adoption of a healthy and active lifestyle, promoting good mental health, adopting positive thinking as a core value and building good life skills.
