Breast cancer has returned to Carolyn Smith’s life, she undergoes chemotherapy every 3 weeks: “Milly saved me”
She spoke about her condition again during an interview with the weekly magazine Gente. Carolyn Smith he is fighting again against that monster that has been in and out of his life for years. He discovered he had breast cancer in 2015 and has never stopped fighting since then.
The Dancing with the Stars juror always shows herself smiling, despite it all. And once again she showed her beloved audience her courage and determination. In January she underwent other tests, as she has done for all these years and unfortunately she received the unpleasant news: the intruder is back.
It’s a bit like he’s playing hide and seek: he disappears a little, he reappears a little. In January, after routine tests, they told me I had to undergo more aggressive treatment. I’m having chemotherapy every 3 weeks, and the next day, to protect the marrow and to increase the white blood cells, I have an injection which is no walk in the park. For the first time in all these years I felt bad, I didn’t think I would have to face chemo that was stronger than the first treatments. I have seen and heard so many that if something more emerges it will undermine, even for just a few moments, my incurable optimism as a fighter.
During the long interview, Carolyn Smith also wanted to thank Milly Carlucci. The one who saved her life, theirs is a true friendship. When the Dancing with the Stars judge received the diagnosis, her world came crashing down. She didn’t know what to do, where to go and for her the most natural thing was talking to her friend and colleague. Milly Carlucci has them presented the oncologist who is still treating her today.
You can say that Milly saved my life, that dancing saves my life every day, that Dancing is an injection of positivity, it gives me an indispensable determination.
