Helldivers 2 it was a success as everyone will know by now, but that doesn’t mean Sony took it for granted. In a new video – which you can find just below – the CEO of Arrowhead Game Studio explained what the achieved results from the game compared to publisher’s predictions.
First of all, it is indicated that according to Helldivers 2 predictions would have achieved a maximum peak of around 150,000 players. In reality, the shooter has exceeded 750,000 contemporary users, thus proving to be five times more interesting than expected.
The result also repaid the enormous effort of Arrowhead Game Studio and Sony’s investments. Initially, in fact, it was planned that the development of Helldivers 2 it would have taken about 3 yearsbut ultimately took the team 7 years, 11 months and 26 days to complete.
In fact, it seems that Sony was convinced by the initial results of the team which, after showing a prototype of the shooter, was able to secure a double budget than expected. Furthermore, the team has grown dramatically over the years, going from 35 people to 100. We are essentially talking about triple, an event which in itself is already a small management challenge and often creates problems during development.
Helldivers 2, between success and problems
Helldivers 2, we repeat, is therefore officially a success, but it has clearly had its downs. One of the worst was when Sony decided to force all PC players to connect to PSN, thus forcing many users to create an account to continue playing.
Ultimately, after incredibly negative reactions from the public, Sony took a step back, but in the meantime Helldivers 2 has been removed from approximately 180 countries removed from approximately 180 countries where there is no access to PSN.
