Barbalho cites proposals on climate change in his government plan; Zequinha Marinho was in 2nd place
With 73% of polls counted by 8:19 pm this Sunday (2.Oct.2022), Helder Barbalho (MDB) was re-elected governor of the State of Pará. He has 69.39% of valid votes and will govern the 9th monthlargest electoral college in the country for another 4 years.
Zequinha Marinho (PL), direct opponent of Helder Barbalho dduring the entire campaign in the state, he has 981,908 votesie, 27.90% of valid votes. Barbalho has 2,442,318 wishes, 69.39% of valid votes.
The result confirmed the electoral polls, which indicated the victory of Helder Barbalho in the 1st round of the general elections, as shown by the Research Aggregator of Power 360.

The re-elected governor of Pará faced his 3rd race for the state government. In his political career, this was his 7th election and 6th victory.
Helder Barbalho was born in the city of Belém and is 43 years old. He is married, with 3 children and has a degree in administration from the University of the Amazon, in Belém. His family is traditional in Pará politics and his father, Jader Barbalho, was a federal deputy for the state from 1975 to 1983 and from 2003 to 2011, in addition to being governor of Pará twice, between 1983 and 1987 and from 1991 to 1994.
Helder Barbalho was a councilor and state deputy for Pará. In 2005, when he was elected mayor of Ananindeua, Barbalho became the youngest person in history to take office in the state. He was re-elected to the post in 2009.
During the 2nd term of President Dilma Rousseff, Helder Barbalho took over the Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture between January and October 2015, when the body was extinguished.

During the campaign for the government of Pará, Helder Barbalho had as his main opponent the candidate of the PL (Liberal Party) Zequinha Marinho. O re-elected governor supported and made a stand mainly forfrog Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (EN) and Simone Tebet (MDB).
The electoral race was marked by the great coalition of Barbalho, formed by 16 parties, among them PT, União Brasil and PDT. With that, Helder Barbalho divided his platform between 4 of the presidential candidates.
In his government plan, the re-elected governor cites proposals on climate change, such as the Amazon State Plan Now, and the bioeconomy. Funding for research between the scientific-technological sectors, traditional peoples, the private sector, civil society and public authorities are also among the proposals.
