Swabian middle class against turbo-capitalism: 1. FC Heidenheim loses its “game of the century” against Chelsea, but still celebrates itself – and names a new king.
The Heidenheim stadium is located on the so-called Schlossberg, but the route there is not overly aristocratic. It leads through a very gray industrial area, past silos, cranes and smoking chimneys. Heidenheim is not London, of course. That’s precisely why it would have been interesting to know what the Chelsea FC footballers were thinking when they rode the bus through this Swabian middle-class dream. In a large district town that needs the addition “an der Brenz” on the town sign so that it is not confused with Heidenheim in Middle Franconia. Seriously?
