Abnormal for summer in the Central European part of Russia, the heat will continue in Moscow at least until the end of next week. Such a forecast was presented on Saturday, July 10, by the leading employee of the Phobos weather center, Alexander Sinenkov.
“Throughout the next week, until the end of the week, the temperature in the capital will be high – 8-10 degrees higher than the average long-term values. We expect that within + 31 … + 33 degrees in the daytime it will be about +20 degrees at night, “Sinenkov said in an interview with TASS…
The meteorologist added that the heat should be expected almost everywhere in the European part of the Russian Federation in the coming days. The regions of the Central and Southern Federal Districts will be especially hot.
On July 9, forecaster Tatyana Pozdnyakova explained the reason for the prolonged heat wave in the Russian capital. She stated that the abnormal weather for Moscow will be held due to the anticyclone, which blocks the west-east transfer. The meteorologist believes that hot weather in Moscow may persist until the end of July. In this case, the air temperature may drop if one anticyclone is replaced by another.
A day earlier, it became known that a giant blocking anticyclone, which in meteorology is called a “greenhouse pot”, has established itself throughout the troposphere and is recorded even in the lower stratosphere at an altitude of 10–12 km. It is noted that such long anticyclones are only in 1% of cases. Usually, such an anticyclone is set for a period of about five days.
At the same time, a high probability of precipitation is predicted in the second half of July, but short-term and mosaic rains are expected.
