The Ministry extends the electronic prescription until September 30 as a measure to relieve Primary Care
The Minister of Health, Juan José Pedreño, held this Tuesday a carousel of meetings with various groups (user associations, medical union, family doctors and health center coordinators) in order to listen to their proposals and propose measures that improve the Primary Care.
After these meetings, the Ministry of Health distributed a press release informing that the remuneration of Primary Care physicians in the Region for the vacation period for assuming quotas will be approximately 100 euros per day, if it is the same day labor, and around 230 euros if patients assume at different times. In addition, the Ministry recalls that, at present, there are 27 professionals in the Covid groups created to reinforce Primary Care in summer, a figure that will be increased depending on the increase in care pressure.
A direct communication circuit will be established in each health area in order to eliminate bureaucracy
Likewise, to facilitate the task of Primary School professionals, the extension of the electronic prescription for chronic patients and visa until September 30 has been established. In addition, measures are being developed to reduce bureaucracy in Primary Care, so that each Health Area has established a direct communication circuit by telephone and email “that allows bureaucratic incidents to be resolved, in order to avoid patient travel” explained the Ministry. Contracts have also been offered to general practitioners for this type of task to reduce bureaucratization in Primary Care, always supervised by a specialized professional.

On the other hand, the counselor Juan José Pedreño told the coordinators that the regional government has reiterated to the Ministry of Health the need to create a plan of urgent measures at the state level to solve the general problem of a shortage of doctors in Spain and a specific plan to promote Primary Care.
The Ministry of Health showed its support for the manifesto for taking urgent state measures in the field of Primary Care that has been sent by other communities to the Ministry of Health, “since the situation of deficit of specialists in Family and Community Medicine that is suffering The entire National Health System has given rise to a critical situation at the national level”, explained Pedreño.
The regional Executive commits to increase the funds for Primary Care in the 2023 Budgets

This will include different axes, such as the increase in health professionals (more than 200 doctors and nurses), as well as a final budget for Primary Care in the regional budgets of 2023, in addition to the adaptation of the operation and structure of the Primary Care teams.
According to the note from the Ministry of Health, the Primary Care staff, including the 061 Management, today amounts to 6,021 professionals, 1,028 more than at the beginning of the health crisis, which represents an increase of 20.6% .
