1. Itching of the eyes can be caused by inflammation of the eyelid
The most common the cause of eye itching is an allergy. Especially during pollen, allergy sufferers will make their minds rub their eyes, says ophthalmologist Kirsti Talvensaari.
Itching can also be caused by inflammation of the eyelid, in which case the sebaceous gland secretion at the edge of the eyelid does not work properly and a chronic inflammatory condition occurs.
