The cumulative incidence in the last fourteen days continues to decline, although the decline stabilizes
Health yesterday notified 68 positives corresponding to Monday, compared to 41 on the same day last week. The rebound translates into an increase in the accumulated incidence during the last seven days, which stands at 23.95 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, compared to 22.3 this weekend.
However, the accumulated incidence at 14 days, which is the main indicator of epidemiological evolution, continues slightly downward, with 46.91 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. The Region of Murcia therefore remains at the low risk threshold, although the decline is stabilizing. We will have to wait for the next few days to see if the curve has touched the ground or not.
Of the 68 new cases notified yesterday, 12 correspond to Murcia, 11 to Cartagena, 6 to Molina de Segura, 5 to Águilas, 4 to Alhama de Murcia and San Pedro del Pinatar and 3 to Abarán and Alcantarilla. The rest of the cases are distributed by other municipalities.
After a weekend without deaths, Health notified yesterday a new death from Covid. This is an 81-year-old male from area II (Cartagena). Since the beginning of the pandemic, 1,743 people have died from the coronavirus in the Region of Murcia.
Lower healthcare pressure
As it is a festive day, Health did not update the situation in the hospitals yesterday. On Monday, 39 patients were admitted for Covid, between 21 and 92 years old. Of them, 12 were in ICU, aged between 19 and 79 years. 80% were not vaccinated when they were infected, according to the data provided by the Ministry.
It is necessary to go back to the beginning of the summer to find a lower care pressure. But the coronavirus has not disappeared from health centers. In the last four weeks there have been 178 hospitalizations, 22 of them in the ICU, according to the latest epidemiological report. During this period, 17 people have died, ten of them over 80 years of age. The fatality is 0.7%,
