The Spanish Agency for Medicines and Health Products (Aemps) reported this Friday that a batch of facial toner Carrefour Loft is being taken off the market for contain a bacteria which can carry risks for older people or people with weakened immune systems.
Specifically, it is lot 3318999 of the product Carrefour Soft – Facial Tonic 250 ml, marketed by the company Interdis, located in Franceand distributed in Spain by Centros Comerciales Carrefour, SA, which has already initiated the withdrawal of the product due to the possible presence of the bacteria. Burkholderia cepaciathe agency dependent on the Ministry of Health in a statement.
Carrefour has also posted a warning note on its official website, explaining that a possible “microbiological non-compliance” in the reference and batch described”, so it requests “as a precautionary measure” that those who have some “refrain from consuming it, being able to go to their nearest store for its return and payment.”
The notice is only for lot 3318999, which can be seen on the back of the packaging; the rest of the products in this range, as well as the rest of the lots, “are not affected by this communication and therefore they can continue to be used without any problem.
The Aemps, for its part, has communicated these measures to health authorities of the different autonomous communities for its dissemination and prevention.
