He stressed that sometimes it is difficult to realize when the product is in a state of decomposition, since most businesses sell frozen seafood.
He mentioned that it is important to avoid eating shellfish, such as oysters, since they are usually the main cause of infections this season.
“It is trying to avoid consuming these raw foods as much as possible,” the official stressed. She recommended consuming cooked shellfish, as this helps reduce bacteria, in order to avoid stomach damage in both children and adults.
