The Ministry of Health and the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO/WHO) signed this Friday (12) a commitment to develop actions to qualify professionals in health, education, social assistance and community leaders in addressing issues such as teenage pregnancy and drug use. Approximately R$ 960 thousand will be invested in the realization of courses.
The initiative, which has a partnership with the Early Childhood Institute (Iprede), will offer training courses focused on these themes. According to the Ministry of Health, the institution was selected for being a reference in the fight against child malnutrition in the North and Northeast regions and an international reference in early childhood.
The objective is that, when qualified, these professionals can become multipliers in the themes, reinforcing prevention actions.
The educational actions are part of the itinerant health promotion and prevention cycles, which are part of the Health Educommunication Actions in Defense of Life, launched in September 2020.
Altogether, the initiative has four cycles: suicide and self-harm prevention; prevention of teenage pregnancy; preventing the consumption of legal and illegal drugs; ethics of life, related to the prevention of violence against children, women and the elderly.
