This was stated by Fulvio Colivicchi, president of the National Association of Hospital Cardiologists (Anmco) which, on the occasion of the 53rd Congress, brought together 3,500 cardiologists in Rimini, including from Ukraine. During the Covid emergency “our patients did not go to hospital and did not take drugs for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases, the decrease was equal to 25%. Result? An increase in mortality from cardiovascular disease that added to mortality from Covid. Now we are recalling patients to the hospital, we have increased the offer in the clinics to make up for lost time but it is a race against time, cardiovascular diseases act quickly ”he concludes.
