Immunization will be applied to young people aged 12 to 17 who have received the 2nd injection for at least 4 months
The Ministry of Health has authorized the 3rd dose of the vaccine against covid-19 for adolescents aged 12 to 17 years, including pregnant and postpartum women. The announcement was made in a technical note of the folder this Friday (27.May.2022). Here’s the intact of the document (171 KB).
According to the Ministry, the booster dose should be applied 4 months apart from the 2nd injection. The orientation is that adolescents take the Pfizer immunizer, regardless of the vaccine applied before.
In case of unavailability of the vaccine, the Ministry of Health said that Coronavac can be used. Both immunizing agents are authorized by Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) for this age group.
For immunocompromised adolescents, only the Pfizer vaccine should be used. The 3rd dose for this group has been released since February 3, 2022.
