It opens today at MiCo there 26th edition of the international aesthetic medicine congress organized by Agorà. An annual event that remains a point of reference for doctors and operators in the sector. In 2023, 437 speakers participated in 98 sessions, with over 6,500 in attendance. The 2024 edition also promises important innovations, maintaining a high scientific level and an international vision. Of note are the prestigious collaborations with The International Association for Prevention of Complications in Aesthetic Medicine (Iapcam) and the Indian dermatology society Stalwarts of Dermatology Congress (Sodc).
The main theme of this edition is “The Anatomy Behind Safety”, focused on the importance of anatomical knowledge to guarantee the safety and effectiveness of aesthetic treatments. Three thirds of the face will be examined in depth, from upper to lower, also with the aid of live dissections. A specific focus will be dedicated to the use of ultrasound in facial treatments.
The scientific program was robust, with 19 gold sessions coordinated with the support of Agorà on the prevention and management of complications, new technologies such as suspension threads, integration of lasers and regenerative medicine. An institutional session will be dedicated to the dialogue with companies in the sector, with the presence of the Ministry of Health, specifically the General Directorate for Medical Devices and the Pharmaceutical Service, and Confindustria Medical Devices.
There is also room for the social commitment of aesthetic medicine. Particular attention will be paid to restorative aesthetic medicine, involving the Italian Association of Medical Oncology (Aiom), the Professional Association of Aesthetic Oncology (Apeo) and those of Health Women’s patients and the “Oncological Trichology” working group of Sitri to discuss operational protocols and personalized treatments. Research grant confirmed with Veronesi Foundation on skin tumors and collaboration with Onda Ets Foundation, to highlight that sustainability is not just an ecological issue, but is deeply rooted in the concept of well-being.
This year, the fortieth anniversary of Agorà Amiest (Italian Society of Aesthetic Medicine)is not just a moment of celebration, but an opportunity to reflect on future challenges: a constant commitment to promoting continuing education, scientific research and the creation of quality standards.
