The body of the seventh confirmed victim of the accident at the Subiana power station has been found: it should be Vinvenzo Garzillo
The number of lifeless bodies found during rescue operations at the power station on Lake Suviana rises to seven. The investigators have not yet ascertained his identity, but it should be Vincenzo Garzilloa 68-year-old Neapolitan, who passed away on Tuesday 9 April on the -9 floor of the hydroelectric power plant.
With the discovery of this last body, the sad story that affected the power station and involved more than one person has finally come to an end 200 people for search, recovery and rescue operations. Paolo Casiraghi, 59 years old, 37 year old Alessandro D'Andrea and Adriano Scandellari, 57 years old were found yesterday, Thursday 11 April.
The searches were concentrated on the minus 9th floor of the facility, below lake level, where the other bodies of the three deceased had also been found.
Yesterday, the chief prosecutor of Bologna, Giuseppe Amato, spoke about the ongoing investigation into disaster and manslaughter. Some people have already been interviewed and investigations will be carried out on contracts and subcontracts. The entire power plant will not be seized, but only floors -8 and -9 where the accident occurred. Furthermore, they will not be executed autopsies on the bodies.
Also Salvatore Bernabei, the CEO of Enel Green Power who had commissioned the work inside the power plant, spoke about the incident. She explained that a test was being carried out and that it was the work of a technological update. He also firmly denied the hypothesis of an illicit chain of subcontracting, maintaining that in the sector it is common to turn to other companies in search of specialists.
With the recovery of the last missing body, a sad chapter closes for the Suviana power station. It now remains to shed light on what happened and ensure that similar tragedies do not happen again in the future. The investigations involve various state bodies and the Prefecture works tirelessly to bring those responsible for the matter to justice.
