He could not stand the pain of his wife’s disappearance and died two days later: The tragedy of Irma and Joe Garcia
To the 21 victims of the terrible ambush in Texas, another one has been added in the last few hours. This was called Joe Garcia and he was the husband of Irma Garcia, one of the two teachers who died in the primary school of Uvalde. The man had gone to place flowers in front of the institute, but he could not stand the pain and collapsed to the ground in the grip of an illness that killed him.
What happened at the Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, will unfortunately be remembered forever. An 18-year-old entered the school and fired a machine gun and pistol at 19 children and two teachers.
Among the latter also Irma Garciawho died trying to protect her pupils to the end.
An incalculable pain for the teacher’s family, especially for her husband Joe who only two days after the tragedy had found the courage to go there to commemorate his life partner for over 25 years.
He had brought gods flowers for her and the other victims, but her heart was literally shattered. Garcia collapsed to the ground in the throes of a sickness, then he was pruned home, where he felt sick again. This time, however, the heart stopped forever.
They had been together since high school, Joe and Irma. And he he couldn’t stand the pain of having lost his soul mate.
Fundraiser for Joe Garcia’s family
Already after Irma’s death, acquaintances had opened one fundraiser in his name. Now the name of her husband has been added to that of the woman.
Irma and Joe Garcia leave 4 children, whose life is now completely devastated. The oldest is finishing the Marine Training Center, the second is attending Texas State University, while the third is in her second year of high school. The youngest, however, still attends elementary school.
Moving the words written by cousin of Irma in the appeal of the fundraiser:
Please give a thought and a prayer for our family. I truly believe that Joe died of a broken heart and that losing the love of his life for over 25 years was too much to bear. Please, he donates everything you can to help their family. 100% of the proceeds will go to the Garcia family for various expenses.
