A 44-year-old man was stabbed this Monday after an argument inside a bus line 152, when the unit was passing through the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo, according to police sources.
According to several witnesses, shortly before 8:00 p.m., a passenger got into prison 56 without paying for his ticket and remained standing in the front of the vehicle, too close to a partner who was sitting.
Faced with this situation, from one of the back seats, whoever was later attacked asked him to respect sanitary measures prevention against the coronavirus pandemic.
José Báez, 39, reacted in the worst way to the request: he quickly went to the bottom of the group, while they argued loudly, and began to beat the other man until took out a knife and stabbed it in the abdomen.
Since Báez got on the bus until he stabbed the other passenger, they had only traveled 150 meters to the intersection between Avenida Santa Fe and Vidt, a few blocks from Alto Palermo Shopping.
The criminal tried to run away, but a building manager, who had seen the situation, was faster, caught up with him and held him until more people arrived to help him and call 911.
“I heard the screams, I stop the bus and see the victim kneeling. The aggressor ran away, but they were able to stop him a few blocks away. I am surprised because no one expects such a reaction“said the bus driver before the A24 microphone.
The victim, a Peruvian national, was transferred by SAME, still with the knife stuck, to the Fernández Hospital, where he underwent surgery and is in reserved state.
For his part, the aggressor was directed to the neighborhood police station 14 A of the City Police. Criminal Court Number 33 intervened, under the charge of Dr. Darío Bonanno and before the Secretariat 170 of Dr. Soledad Mariño, who ordered the transfer of the aggressor to the police station and the kidnapping of the knife.
In the next few hours they will take an investigatory statement and they will carry out the corresponding psychological tests.
