Work continues on the HBO series of The Last of Us.
Apparently, fans looking forward to the live-action TV show of The Last of Us from HBO they will have to wait a little longer, as it has been confirmed that the series will not air until at least next year.
Recent news on the project indicated that filming in Alberta, Canada is still ongoing and will continue until July, but Casey Bloys, chief content officer of HBO, has now made it official. “It will not air in 2022“, said a Deadline“they are still shooting in Canada. I imagine you will see it in 2023“.
Bloys also added that he saw some material and said he was “very enthusiastic“progress.”Craig [Mazin, sceneggiatore principale della serie] he did Chernobyl for us, he’s a fantastic writer and director. What I’ve seen is great, so I’m excited, but it’s not coming in 2022“.
HBO officially gave the green light for the televised adaptation of Mazin’s The Last of Us in late 2020, and there has been a steady stream of information ever since. In February of last year, we found out that Pedro Pascal was cast in the role of Joel and Bella Ramsey for the role of Ellie. In September, we got our first look at the actors in their roles.
Parks and Recreation’s Nick Offerman will play Bill, while Jeffrey Pierce (who played Joel’s brother Tommy in the Last of Us video games) was cast to play quarantine rebel Perry, and Gabriel Luna will play Tommy. Nico Parker will play the role of Sarah, Joel’s daughter, and Merle Dandridge will reprise the role of Marlene, leader of the resistance of the Fireflies in video games.
The first season of The Last of Us – which stars Naughty Dog’s Neil Druckmann as director on a few episodes – is expected to run for ten episodes.
