Haunted Chocolatier is the new game from ConceredApe, or Eric Barone, developer who rose to the limelight thanks to the global success of Stardew Valley, so the title is worth keeping an eye on and was announced just today with a first trailer and some pictures.
There are not yet very precise details, but it seems to be, even in this case, a game that mixes elements from action RPG with others from simulation, a mixture similar to that which characterizes Stardew Valley, even if Haunted Chocolatier has different characteristics and above all atmospheres.
Also in this case, the game is represented from above with a pixelated 2D graphics in 16-bit style and sees us playing a character of your choice who finds himself doing the chocolatier within a small town.
The protagonist’s life is divided between the need to collect the raw materials and ingredients to create the chocolate, the production of this and the various interpersonal relationships within the town.
Obviously, for gather resources it is necessary to explore various environments and fight against monsters and creatures of various kinds, in order to obtain increasingly precious and rare ingredients to take back home and to use to create chocolate, to sell or give to others.
A peculiar feature of all this is that, apparently, the chocolate factory, as well as the protagonist’s house, is located inside a castle haunted by ghosts. However, this should not lead to horror or gloomy atmospheres, since also in this case the idea of Barone is to create a game that is a hymn to life, positive and refreshing.
Except, while Stardew Valley was mostly dominated by the sun, Haunted Chocolatier is dominated by the moon, Barone said. There is no information about release date or platforms reference, but more information on this interesting title will come soon.
