Harry Styles paid tribute to his very first teacher during a performance in Manchester.
“I want to find someone in the audience,” said the British singer. “So let’s all be quiet then I’m going to try and find this person if you don’t mind helping me.” The As It Was-singer tells that his primary school teacher is present. “Her name is Mrs. Vernon and I believe she is in the audience.”
Once he has found her, he asks her how she is doing. “I heard you’re retiring. I would like to thank you. It means a lot to me that you are here tonight.”
Styles then thanks all the teachers at his primary school, Hermitage Primary School in Holmes Chapel, and dedicates a song to them.
Against BBC Radio Manchester the teacher later says that as a teacher she remembers all her students and that all students are wonderful in their own way. Harry is now doing “great things,” she continues. “Everyone at Hermitage is so, so proud of him.”
