Pop idol Harry Styles benefits greatly from therapy sessions, which help him better understand his own emotions. In an interview with Rolling Stone he says it makes him feel vulnerable, but also caring for others. He also elaborates on his sexuality and the discussions about it.
Harry Styles is hard to pigeonhole, but undoubtedly also one of the last to think in boxes. His clothing style is exuberant with lots of feathers and glitter. Yet that is precisely what makes for the necessary innuendo, and although the pop star – who forms a set with actress Olivia Wilde – ignores social media as much as possible, he does not always manage to keep his private life a secret.
For that reason, he consciously goes to a therapist. ,,I exercise every day and take care of my body. So why not do the same for my mind?” he tells in Rolling Stone. “There are so many emotions unknown before you start analyzing them properly,” he says. “I really like to go deep into it. I don’t think ‘I don’t want to feel this way’, but rather ‘how come I feel this way?’”
Sexuality
In addition, according to Styles, he must dare to be vulnerable. During therapy, he wanted to shake off one feeling in particular: the shame surrounding his sexuality. He barely got a chance to figure out his sexual preferences himself, or the public already did that for him. “When I’m working, I work very hard and I think I’m very professional. If I’m not working, I’m not. I think I’m open, but also quite stubborn and I can be vulnerable,” said the 28-year-old Briton.
Yet it gave him a wry feeling, as if he were being hypocritical. After all, his shows thrive as a safe place for his fans. For example, it happened several times that Styles helped a fan to come out during a performance. This also happened at a show of his in the Ziggo Dome.

Styles will soon play the role of Tom in the film my policeman. His character is attracted to men, which also raises the question about the actor’s sexuality. “I think everyone, myself included, is going their own way to figure out their sexuality and to become more familiar with it,” he says. “I never spoke publicly about my life outside of work, and that has had a positive effect on me. There will always be other versions of the real story circulating. That’s why I decided not to waste time on correcting those stories,” says the singer, who has been on 1 for eighteen weeks now as it was in the Top 40.
