Handball influencer Nils Kretschmer is to be blocked for four years because of a doping violation. This unanimously decided the Presidium of the Handball Bundesliga (HBL). As the HBL announced, the 32-year-old was shown in a urine sample in September of last year “a result of the standard of analysis” in the testosterone value. Because Kretschmer immediately admitted his guilt, there is a chance that the lock will be reduced to three years. His sporting career could still end abruptly.

As soon as Kretschmer receives the decision about the decision by post, he has 20 days to inform whether he accepts the consequences or rejects it and applied for a disciplinary procedure. According to the information, this then falls into the responsibility of the anti-doping commission of the German Handball Federation.
Last December, the suspicion of doping against Kretschmer became known. The HBL then suspended the back room player with immediate effect. His club at the time – the second division club TV Großwallstadt – solved the contract with him shortly before Christmas.
