Fourth with regret
Lewis Hamilton he leaves his ‘home’ in Montreal with a bittersweet taste in his mouth. In Canada, where the Englishman has won seven times in his career, a fourth place finish which represents his best result of the season. The feeling, however, is that, between qualifying and the race, the most successful driver in the history of F1 threw away the chance of achieving at least the first podium of the season, but perhaps even something more.
At the end of the race then, in addition to the record lap in the race, Hamilton also dueled with teammate George Russell for third place on the podiumemerging defeated from the battle, not without some digs thrown at the team.
Questionable strategy
“My weekend could have been different with a different qualification – Hamilton admitted to Sky Sport F1 – it was a shocking performance from me, today it wasn’t a great performance, in fact it was one of the worst. However the car was good and the team did a great job this weekend, so the future looks promising with this progress“.
Regarding the comparison with his garage partner, however, Hamilton launched a question dig at your team, saying that he had not been informed of the decision to implement a different strategy for him and Russell: medium tires for the #63, hard tires for the #44. “THEor penalized in the second part of the race by the choice of tires? Yes. If I had known they were going to put me on hard tires I would have stayed out. I thought George and I would have the same tire: I went back in and I didn’t realize George had middle school. I knew I would have the hard, but I thought we had the same tyre. If I had known that George was in middle school I would have stayed out.”concluded The Hammer.
