During the meeting, His Highness was briefed on the plans and programs of the Council for the Competitiveness of Emirati Cadres during the next phase, which aim to develop a long-term strategy to train and qualify Emirati competencies and cadres, and develop orientation programs for Emiratis to raise the percentage of citizens in the private sector, in addition to developing initiatives, projects and programs for training and employing citizens in the sector. During the meeting, His Highness was briefed on the initiatives of the “Nafis” program launched by the Emirati Competitiveness Council last September, and the program’s work strategy, which aims to enhance the competitiveness of the Emirati workforce during the next five years, and enable them to fill jobs in the private sector institutions in the country. His Highness was also briefed on the programme’s unified electronic platform, which contributes to providing the main and supportive services, and is a link between citizens looking for work and private sector institutions that are looking for talents and competencies to employ them.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised the efforts made to implement the program’s plans in all its stages, stressing the importance of cooperation between all relevant parties to achieve positive results for the program in the specified term. His Highness valued the role and efforts of those in charge of the council’s work in order to provide a decent life for citizens and encourage them to engage in the private sector, pointing to the importance of enhancing the participation of national cadres in building the future and advancing the sustainable development process and empowering it in the private sector, for its vital role in building a sustainable and developmental future based on strengthening Capabilities and investing constructive energies to contribute to the country’s comprehensive march.
