His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, representative of the ruler in the Al Dhafra region, and Chairman of the Emirates Red Crescent Authority, directed the strengthening of the relief operations of the Authority for those affected by torrential rains and floods in Sudan, and to provide everything that would contribute to alleviating the suffering on their shoulders.
His Highness said that this aid comes in implementation of the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, “may God protect him”, to provide urgent humanitarian aid to those affected and displaced due to torrential rains and floods in Sudan, and to contribute to supporting the improvement of living conditions of the affected population and families of the victims and an extension of the humanitarian and development efforts that carried out by the United Arab Emirates.
This came during a phone call made by His Highness with the delegation of the UAE Red Crescent, which is currently in Sudan to implement a number of humanitarian programs and relief operations for the benefit of the affected in a number of Sudanese states most affected by the disaster.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, during contact with the head of the Red Crescent delegation, Muhammad Khamis Al Kaabi, was reassured about the humanitarian situation in Sudan in general, and briefed His Highness on the details of the relief program being implemented to provide the necessary needs of the affected people, and thanked the delegation for its humanitarian efforts and field movements in the Sudanese arena. To provide the necessary support to those affected and mitigate the repercussions of the disaster.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed that the UAE will spare no effort to meet the humanitarian needs in Sudan, and to enhance its humanitarian response for the benefit of the brothers there.
