This came during the visual contact made by His Highness with a number of participants in the “Emirates Experts” program who visit Dalma Island to view all the facilities, services and archaeological areas, in addition to visiting a number of residents, with the aim of coming up with development initiatives for multiple sectors that contribute to supporting existing initiatives to improve Quality of life for a prosperous and sustainable community on the island.

His Highness called on the participants in the program to focus on the pearl sector because of its great importance to the people of the region, as Dalma represents an important part of the history of the pearl trade in the Arabian Gulf and is historically famous for this trade, in addition to the dependence of the people of Delma on it.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan stressed the importance of having one port in Delma and canceling all other small ports because this matter is of great importance to the island’s economy and to facilitate the work of all the competent authorities on the island.
For his part, Saeed Al Zaabi, a representative of the Abu Dhabi Crown Prince’s Court, praised the keenness of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his follow-up of all projects and initiatives implemented in the cities of the Al Dhafra region, and praised His Highness’s directives in harnessing all capabilities and providing them to the Emirates Experts Program team during his visit to Dalma Island. He thanked the staff of the office of the Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra region and all officials for facilitating the delegation’s mission, explaining that the participants in the program visited a number of councils and citizens ’residences on Dalma Island, during which they touched the happiness of Dalma’s sons and thanked them for the wise leadership of the state and the keenness of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan and following him The various infrastructure projects on the island, noting the continuous visits of His Highness to the people of Delma to meet them and check on their conditions.

The delegation’s program included a visit to the island’s port, during which it was briefed on the needs of fishermen and users of the port, as some proposals to be implemented on some port facilities that would facilitate the work of sailors were written down, as the port’s capacity is more than 260 boats and the number of current boats is 150 in addition to transporting all means.
