Hamburg – In view of the high corona numbers and the new Omikron variant, Hamburg Mayor Peter Tschentscher expects the rules to contain the pandemic to be tightened further. He assumes that the Prime Minister’s Conference on Tuesday will limit private contacts to ten to a maximum of 20 people for those who have been vaccinated and those who have recovered, the SPD politician told the German Press Agency on Monday. It would make sense if the new rules came into force before Christmas. Stricter contact restrictions already apply to unvaccinated people. In addition, booster vaccinations should be made possible across the board, said Tschentscher. The federal government must provide sufficient vaccine for this. (dpa)
