The militant wing of the Palestinian Hamas movement attacked the Tze’elim military base and the Hatzerim airfield, where the 107th squadron of the Israeli Air Force is stationed. The Izzeddin al-Qassam Brigades group reported this on October 23.
“Fighters of the Izzeddin al-Qassam Brigade launched two suicide attack drones at the positions of the occupiers,” the group’s Telegram channel said.
Thus, one drone hit the Hatzerim airfield, and the second attacked the headquarters of the Sinai division, located at the Tzeelim military base.
Earlier in the day, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said it had struck more than 320 targets in the Gaza Strip. In turn, the militant wing of Hamas, the Izz ed-Din al-Qassam Brigades, announced an attack on the city of Beersheba in southern Israel.
On October 7, Hamas subjected Israeli territory to massive rocket fire, which was carried out from the Gaza Strip, and also invaded the border areas in the south of the country. On the same day, the Israeli side began to launch retaliatory strikes.
According to the latest data, 5.4 thousand people were injured by Israel, more than 1.4 thousand were killed. The number of victims in the Gaza Strip exceeded 5 thousand, and another 15 thousand residents were injured.
The Palestinians are trying to ensure that future borders between the two countries follow lines that existed before the 1967 Six-Day War, with possible territory swaps. Palestine wants to create its own state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip, and make East Jerusalem its capital. Israel refuses to return to the 1967 borders and divide Jerusalem.
