Hamas said it will not back down from its negotiating positions with Israel on Gaza
The Palestinian Hamas movement has refused to budge from its positions in the ceasefire negotiations in the Gaza Strip. Member of the movement’s Politburo Khalil al-Heya stated this, reports TASS.
As al-Heya explained, Hamas will not agree to the conditions that were previously rejected, and will not allow Israel to impose at the negotiating table what “it could not achieve by force.”
He also stressed that the movement, over the past year of negotiations, “showed all the necessary responsibility and flexibility” to reach an agreement.
Earlier, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a counter-terrorism operation against the Palestinian radical movement Hamas in the area of the Jabaliya refugee camp in the Gaza Strip. After conducting reconnaissance, units of the 401st and 460th brigades completed the encirclement of the area to begin the offensive.
