In a somewhat surprising announcement, 343 Industries has revealed that Halo Infinite will be getting a third-person mode in November. The novelty was revealed during a panel at the 2024 Halo World Championship.
Furthermore, everything was shared with a short presentation video published via Twitter, as you can see just below.
The video of Halo Infinite’s third-person mode
Senior community manager John “Unyshek” Junyszek and Skybox Labs senior software engineer Colin Cove offered some more insight during the Halo World Championship panel, saying that they will start with the third-person Firefight mode in a future update, “but we also have the ability to introduce her into PvP and control her in the Forge,” according to Cove.
They’ve made it clear that third-person will be supported at the mode level, and that with the Forge controls, modes can switch individual players (or all players) between first-person and third-person perspectives when desired. At the moment it is unclear whether it will be available in campaign mode or if it will be limited to multiplayer.
Although this is the first time that the third-person mode has been available on an official level, over the years different mods they added it to the game and it was very well received by the community. Some players on ResetEra suggest that this is a first test for a battle royale mode for the next game in the saga.
Speaking instead of the much talked about canceled Halo battle royale, a new video reveals other alleged details about the game.
