Halo Infinite will soon allow to earn credits for his in-game store. The senior community manager of 343 Industries, John Junyszek, recently confirmed this in a post on the forums of Halo Waypoint, the official site of the universe of Halo which contains the latest information on the franchise’s games and media:
Thanks to your continued feedback, we are happy to confirm that credits will be available in the Season 2 Battle Pass. We will have more to share on this as we get closer to Season 2.
Ever since the multiplayer mode of Halo Infinite was launched in November, players have criticized some aspects of its free-to-play model.
Among the various problems highlighted by fans are the cosmetic items, and in that sense the free Battle Pass offers little in the way of significant rewards, thus leaving the most interesting objects to microtransactions in the game shop of Halo Infinite.
Speaking of which, 343 Industries expressed an intention to last week lower prices in the shop. While the prices of the stickers of the bundles have already suffered a decline this week, Junyszek said next week’s store update will begin offering items for sale piecemeal, rather than solely as part of expensive packages.
These new features have been well received by the community, but modify the Battle Pass to allow players to earn credits through matches is probably the biggest request made by the Halo Infinite.
At the moment, it is not clear exactly how the credits will be distributed. Players will earn them periodically leveling up, kind of like this season’s XP boosts and challenge swaps?
They will really be able to earn enough credits for buy premium cosmetics? Will players be able to accumulate credits and spend them on the initial cost of future seasons’ Battle Passes? Currently none of these questions are answered, and we just have to wait for the next updates to have clarifications about it.
The second season of Halo Infinite it should start in May, and with that advent, support for cooperative play in the campaign will also be added, a staple for every previous game of Halo that was absent in Infinite at launch.
