Let’s find out where Halo Infinite’s Grappleshot comes from.
In Halo Infinite, Master Chief has a new equipment, the Grappleshot.
But where does it come from? The latest episode of UNSC Archives reveals the origins of “Project Magnes”, which would later become the Grappleshot.
“At the height of the Human-Covenant conflict, a civil engineer built a prototype for the rapid mass manipulation of heavy objects; a device he hoped the UNSC would adopt and integrate into the Master Chief’s combat arsenal“, one line of the video description reads.
This is the second episode of the UNSC Archives series that delves into the “untold stories of humanity and heroism“of the Halo lore. The former revealed the story behind Master Chief’s energy shields.
November marks the 20th anniversary of Xbox and Halo, and Microsoft will celebrate with a livestream on November 15th. This is also the day the Halo Infinite-inspired Xbox Series X console and a 20th anniversary controller go on sale.
Initially, Halo Infinite was supposed to launch in 2020, but Microsoft has postponed the game for a full year due in part to the shift to smart working. The game is now scheduled for release on December 8 on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S.
The multiplayer element will be a free standalone game, while the campaign will be a separate paid product. However, both will be available with Xbox Game Pass.
