The end of an era: Halo servers for Xbox 360 shut down.
On January 13, the servers of Halo for Xbox 360 have been permanently shut down, shutting down the multiplayer lobbies of Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST, Halo Reach and Halo 4. Few games have been able to polarize attention and influence mass culture over the course of over a generation for years, and so players have come together to say goodbye to the Xbox 360 servers.
These four chapters are in fact still playable through the Master Chief Collection on Xbox One and PC, but those who were still in possession of the “green” console of the seventh generation still wanted to pay particular Halo 3: more than a million players yes they are connected one last time, before the online player counter finally hit zero, the sign of the end of an era.
Halo 3 really is going offline for eternity. So many amazing memories on that game. Nothing will ever come close to the joys I had in that time 2007-2012. pic.twitter.com/JVgdnxlizk

In addition to these, there are many other types of tributes online, from memes to sharing the soundtrack, to videos. Halo has marked a generation and the saga continues, but the gravitation around a Halo as Halo 3 did may be unrepeatable in the future.
