The bad weather that raged on the A1 motorway caused incalculable damage. A violent hailstorm struck part of Emilia-Romagna in the middle of the afternoon, causing a series of inconveniences to mobility: to facilitate the intervention of emergency vehicles, the section of the A1 motorway between Parma and Fiorenzuola, in the province of Piacenza, towards Milan, is state temporarily closed. The damage to the vehicles was also considerable, many of which were literally destroyed.
A video released by a motorist on the Facebook page “Emilia Romagna Meteo” is eloquent: hundreds of vehicles stopped on the roadway in the opposite direction to the one on which he was traveling, the windshield was completely chipped by the hail, and in some cases practically destroyed. Cars, but also vans and trucks: the hailstorm that hit Emilia has spared no damage to any type of vehicle. The temporary closure of the aforementioned section of the A1 obviously caused interminable queues in the direction of Milan. As reported by Ansa, it was the intervention of the Traffic Police is necessary and the staff of Autostrade per l’Italia’s Direction 2 / o Tronco di Milano to try to resolve the situation. The hope is that the circulation will soon be regular again.
